New Family Mentor Program

Starting at a new school is exciting, but it can also come with plenty of questions. The St. Mary’s New Family Mentor Program connects new families with a current school family who can help them feel welcomed, informed, and connected to our community.

Your mentor family can help answer everyday questions about school traditions, events, uniforms, volunteering, carline, PTO activities, and more. While mentors are not a replacement for official communication from the school, they can offer a friendly and experienced parent perspective as your family settles in.

Become a Mentor

Current families can make a meaningful difference by welcoming a new family, checking in periodically, answering questions, and helping them become part of the St. Mary’s community.

No special expertise is required—just a willingness to be a friendly and helpful point of contact. Email or call Maggie Bourne for more information.

Once a match is made, mentor families are encouraged to introduce themselves, check in before the school year begins, and remain available during the new family’s transition. The level of communication can be tailored to what works best for both families.

Together, we can help every new family feel at home at St. Mary’s from the very beginning.
